American Le Mans Series 2010 at Laguna Seca

Had a great time at the American Le Mans Series Monterey last May 21-23, 2010. It was a race weekend with the high-tech, high-speed Le Mans prototypes and GT machines of the American Le Mans Series staging a Saturday afternoon-into-evening six-hour race. The Corvette Racing team finished 3rd in the GT2 class with their new C6.R. Previous versions of the Corvette C5-R and C6.R race cars have dominated the GTS and GT1 categories in the last decade, winning 77 races and eight consecutive ALMS championships.

Carlsbad Caverns New Mexico

Here are a some shots from my trip to Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico. 750 feet under the desert floor in southern New Mexico you can hike through stalactites, stalagmites and other formations all over 500,000 years old and still growing. I definitely want to go back in again and reshoot these caverns.

Vocera Flash Snow Globe

Check out this holiday eCard the team at WebEnertia and I created for Vocera communications. You can decorate a Vocera badge with shoes, hats, clothes, and glasses, change the snowglobe background, then click and drag to shake. The snow inside the globe has “physics” programmed in Flash so it reacts to the speed and direction you shake it. Build a few badges and look for hidden “easter egg” animations that will play when certain combinations are made.

TrexiTron PlayImaginitive

These two red and blue TrexiTron’s were my designs for the Play Imaginitive Trexi design contest. The 1st place winner’s design had a chance to be produced in future product releases, 2nd and runner-ups had prizes and were all featured in Play Times Magazine for urban vinyl, design, and toys. The competition was great and although these TrexiTron’s didn’t take first place, they were in Play Time and I won a really cool limited edition Motorola Trexi prize. (3rd place I think?)

Eikon To Go Geek Gadget Ad

Here is a product advertisement I designed at WebEnertia for UPEK’s Eikon To Go Digital Fingerprint Reader. This ad ran in the December 2008 issue of GEEK Magazine and featured Sarah Silverman on the cover. The Eikon To Go protects your sensitive data by replacing passwords with your fingerprint, and allows you to quickly access your files with the swipe of your finger. It also allows you to launch your favorite applications, switch user accounts, access password protected websites, and replace all those different passwords with your fingerprint.

Geek Magazine is a monthly publication that covers everything geeks obsess about; the latest toys, gadets, computers, movies, games and software.

Tokyo Marui M4-PMC

Just picked up a brand new 2008 Limited Edition Tokyo Marui M4-PMC 5.56mm tactical stubby model M4 Carbine. This Private Military Contractors type gun features fully/semi automatic shooting modes with auto firing rated at 700 ~ 850 rounds per minute. Barrel length is 160mm with muzzle velocity at 260 feet per second stock before any modifications. I chose this Tokyo Marui M4 as the base and plan to upgrade from here.

Weight is about 3220g. Aluminum Diecasting, ABS Receiver / Grip / Stock & Metal Flash Hider / Front & Rear Sights & Handguard with engraved G.S.S. official markings.
New Tactical type Trigger Guard and Full Length Scope Mount Base. The included short magazine holds 80 Rounds.

Logo design and business cards for Fontejon Photography.

Sam Fontejon wanted a clean and simple logo design for his new photography business. After trying a few icon ideas, sketching “SF” letter logos concepts, and camera symbols, the best directions were type only.

The business card design is above and the final logo is below.
